  • Wendy Williams has entered a wellness facility to address “overall health issues,” according to a press release from her publicist.

  • The former talk show host has dealt with a mix of health complications over the last few years, including those from Graves’ disease, Lymphedema, and COVID-19.

  • The 58-year-old hopes to launch a podcast upon getting her health in check.

The last few years have been an uphill battle for Wendy Williams, who was absent from her talk show’s final season due to a mix of health complications before it ultimately ended in June. Since then, the 58-year-old has been working toward her next big project (a podcast), but she’s taking a pause right now for some R&R. According to a press release from her publicist, she has reportedly checked into a wellness facility to address “overall health issues.”

“She is taking some time to focus on her health and wellness as she prepares for a major comeback for the next level in her career with The Wendy Experience Podcast,” the press release states, per People. “Ms. Williams is being treated by a team of some of the best doctors in the world. We ask for your prayers and well wishes during this time.”

During Williams’ previous health hiatus, her team revealed she dealt with COVID-19, as well as complications from Graves’ disease. In July, she told TMZ she can only feel 5% of her feet due to Lymphedema, which is swelling due to fluid retention.

In March, she told Good Morning America she was in “very well” health. “I’ve actually had a few appointments,” she said. “You know, I’m 57 now and I have the mind and body of a 25-year-old.”

Although The Wendy Williams show’s end may’ve not been the one she expected, she sees it as an opportunity to move on and branch out. Last month, she teased The Wendy Experience podcast in a now-deleted promo, captioning it: “TRUST ME I will be BACK!”

“Wendy is excited about everything new in her life and her main priority is her health and shooting her first episode of her podcast. That’s the focus right now,” her rep, William Selby, told People at the time, adding that she “wants to take things slow and really put her focus into launching [it].”

Selby continued: “Wendy is in a sweet spot in her life where she can stop, breathe and smell the roses. Everyone knows Wendy has been a workhorse her entire life, and she is just looking to get back on the horse.”

Hopefully, the star gets the rest and treatment she needs to ride again.
