Wendy Kopp, Founder & Former CEO of Teach For America

Wendy Kopp is the former CEO and founder of Teach For America. The idea first came to her as a senior in college and she proposed the concept in her senior thesis. Following graduation, she worked to make the idea come to life.

Decades later, Teach For America continues to make change through education in low-income communities across the country. Nearly 10,000 new corp members each year reach over 750,000 of the highest need students. Kopp also serves as the chief executive of Teach For All, which is supporting the development of Teach For America's model in other countries. She is the author of One Day, All Children: The Unlikely Triumph of Teach For America and What I Learned Along the Way. She holds a Bachelor's degree from Princeton University where she participated in the undergraduate program of the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
