Between fast food franchises raising prices and rumored menu surge pricing, the time of the value menu may seem long gone. Luckily for us foodies, some fast food chains are giving our wallets a bit of a break with new deals popping up every few weeks.

Let’s face it: we’ll turn every day into a national holiday if it means we can get free food.

With March Madness coming to an end, you might have thought your chance for fast food deals was, too. But, not if the upcoming solar eclipse has anything to say about it.

Because when you watch the total solar eclipse on April 8, your first thought is, “Now, where can I get a free dessert to celebrate?” Right? Maybe not, but we’ll certainly take one.

So, if you, like us, will never turn down a free dessert, here’s what you need to know about Wendy’s free Frosty deal.

Wendy’s Free Frostys for Solar Eclipse

Wendy's

Starting April 8 through April 14, Wendy’s is giving away free small Frostys to all customers. While there is no purchase necessary to score the free Frosty, you will need to download the Wendy’s app and become a rewards member, if you aren’t already.

Once you’re logged in, you can redeem the free Frosty under the “Offers” section in the app. Simply click on the offer and decide if you want to use it in the restaurant or for a mobile order. If you choose to order via the app, add your favorite small Frosty flavor—either Chocolate or the new Orange Dreamsicle—to your bag and checkout. Of course, you can add any other items to round out your order—like the limited-time Pretzel Baconator or fan-favorite fries—but it’s not necessary to get the free treat.

The free Frosty deal cannot be used with any other offer, so if you still haven’t scored your $1 Dave’s Single or $2 Dave’s Double, you’ll either have to complete two separate transactions or make another trip through the drive-thru another day. The burger deal expires on April 10, though, so you’ll want to get there sooner rather than later.

It seems our eclipse day just got even busier. Between grabbing our Wendy’s deal, picking out our eclipse Krispy Kreme doughnuts, and getting our free “appclipse” appetizer at Chili’s, don’t forget to find time to actually watch the historic moment in the sky.
