Taco Bell isn’t the only restaurant that knows how to do breakfast burritos! Wendy’s just launched a brand new, mouthwatering burrito that could give the Mexican-inspired fast-food chain a run for its money.

That’s right: Wendy’s is joining the ranks of Taco Bell and McDonald’s by expanding their already delicious breakfast menu—and their take on a breakfast burrito looks like the heartiest one yet. Find all the details below.

Wendy's adds breakfast burrito to menu

Wendy's breakfast burrito just hit menus nationwide on Monday, January 22. This creation features just about everything we could ask for: eggs, applewood smoked bacon, American cheese, Swiss cheese sauce, and, of course, seasoned potatoes. To top it all off, they've also added two packs of Cholula Hot Sauce. Sounds like heaven!

It may even be enough to give Taco Bell a run for its money (especially as Taco Bell customers have been complaining of high prices). Taco Bell has an extensive breakfast menu that includes three different Grande Toasted Breakfast Burritos: steak, bacon, and sausage. However, what sets Wendy's apart is the large size of their burrito, as well as the fact that—like all of their breakfast items—it's made with fresh bacon. And as for McDonald's, we personally think their tiny rendition of a breakfast burrito hardly stands a chance.

During Wendy's third-quarter-earnings call, Chief Executive Todd Penegor noted that the company would be expanding their breakfast offerings (which they've been serving up since March 2020) to keep customers satisfied. "Looking ahead to the rest of the year, you can expect more cravable innovation alongside value that supports the restaurant economic model as we run our high-low strategy," he said.  "At the breakfast daypart, we continue to execute against our playbook of driving sales through innovation and promotions."

What do you think? Are you as excited to give this burrito a try as we are? Or will you be sticking to Taco Bell? Let us know in the comments!
