CHILLICOTHE — The Serenity Wellness Center in Chillicothe has a goal of providing behavioral health and substance abuse recovery services but the family running it has a more personal goal of giving love to the community.

The family-run business includes Shaina, Rachel and Kaytlin Conley all working together to help provide the help patients need. Being local themselves the family said they have a better understanding of the prevalent needs of the people in the area.

Having previously worked at other practices the trio decided to put their own spin on a wellness center when they opened Serenity almost two years ago. This is why they strive to make the center as homey and welcoming as possible while providing a variety of services.

"We want to be a place where people can come and feel healthy holistically," said Rachel.

When individuals come to the center they are brought in for an assessment where the team works with them to find their issues and create a treatment plan that works for them. Shaina said the business is big on making care accessible to all so they work to meet people where they are to offer help.

This help includes everything from therapy, support groups, counseling, referrals and life skills. The life skills portion of the center is something the group said sets them apart as they actively work with individuals to help them not only with their struggles but also in finding what they can do once they are back in society to be successful and happy.

Through their work with others and the family bond, Kaytlin sums up Serenity with one word- love. It is the love they have for each other and those they help that keep them going. With this love, they also aim to help people learn to love themselves.

"We want to show love," said Kaytlin. "Love is something at the heart of Serenity."

The business recently held an open house to welcome the community into the space and showcase the work they have done so far. The family said the event was "fulfilling" and "amazing" as it gave them a chance to connect more with the community and spread the word about their services.

Serenity Wellness Center is located at 637 Central Center in Chillicothe, they can be reached by phone at 740-649-9360.
