It is - as you may already have noticed, if you own a diary, or a calendar, or a smartphone, or any sort of awareness about time and date - July 4. Which is also - as you may already have noticed, if you are American, or have heard of America, or have been to America, or you are alive - Independence Day on the other side of the Atlantic.

What? Oh, you know, the big event which happened in 1776, and has been celebrated on the fourth day of the seventh month ever since. Philadelphia. The United States 1 Great Britain 0 (Goal: George Washington, 89 minutes; Red Card - George III, 90 minutes). The process is simple. There is a half-century of questions below. Each state is the correct answer to one of them, and one alone.
