It’s shaping up to be a strong year for Justin Bieber. After announcing his first album in five years, titled Changes, the “Yummy” singer was recently spotted with some, well, physical changes.
The first change comes in the form of a tattoo. On January 30, Justin took to Instagram to display his brand-new ink. As Page Six noted, Justin was spotted that same day leaving the gym and was caught with what appeared to be a brand-new tattoo around the base of his neck. The tattoo in question seems to be a set of laurel leaves, a Greco-Roman symbol commonly associated with victory, that he later flaunted on his Instagram Stories.
But, moving upward, Justin debuted even more changes in the face department. The singer has been publicly seen sporting a mustache, a slightly more refined version of the unshaven look Justin’s occasionally worn for the last few years. And he isn’t taking any heat from his haters. The singer hopped onto Instagram to showcase his ’stache in all its wispy glory, writing, “MY STASH MY LIFE DEAL WITH IT HAHA.”
Facial hair aside, some have speculated (again) that Justin’s new tattoo might be a reference to his new 10-part docuseries, Justin Bieber: Seasons, which premiered on YouTube on January 27. In the series, Justin covers the trials and tribulations he’s faced since his rise to fame, exploring the many challenges that growing up in the limelight can present for a pop star today. Those obstacles — and his ability to overcome them — could be represented by his new symmetrical leaves.
No matter what fans think of Bieber’s new facial hair or the interpretations behind the tattoo, the singer surely doesn’t have the time to deal with the reactions. Changes will be released on Valentine’s Day this year, and in the months following, he’ll be embarking on a tour that will take him all around the United States. The Biebs is too booked and busy to deal with the haters!
