Simple and pretty.

When Anne Hathaway sartorially speaks, we listen. In the past year or so, the actor has solidified herself as a certified fashion and beauty girl, and every time she makes an appearance we know we're in for a treat. So, when she arrived at a Bvlgari event in Rome in a custom Zac Posen for Gap dress dripping in jewels, we knew her beauty look was destined to be just as good. This time, the 41-year-old put her stamp of approval on summer's most popular (yet simple) manicure trend, proving that the best manicures can also be the most easygoing.

On May 20,Hathaway proved that sometimes less is more in the manicure department, especially when wearing the second-ever custom Gap dress by Zac Posen and millions of dollars worth of diamonds. She kept it simple with her nails, and her minimalist manicure was a super sheer color that was slightly pink with a wash of white that created the perfect milky manicure.

The ideal milky manicure isn't too pink, too white, or too nude, and Hathaway's nails were just right. It looks like she painted on her natural nails which are slightly oval-shaped, and the polish is so sheer that you can still see the whites of her nailbeds. Her simple manicure allowed for the other parts of her look to shine while still feeling like an essential part of her glam.

The best part about Hathaway's manicure? It's so easy to recreate, especially in a pinch. It doesn't take much more than shaping your nails and applying color. To get her nails at home, try combining a mixture of pink and white shades to find your unique color. Or, stick to classics with a light coat of O.P.I's Funny Bunny ($12). Jinsoon's Pixie, Dew, and Whisper ($18 each) are also great alternatives.

The rest of her glam followed the same relaxed but chic vibe of her nails. Hairstylist Orlando Pita helped create the Anyone But You star's regal hairstyle. He swooped her part to one side and flipped up the ends for a sophisticated, bouncy blowout (it was giving Princess of Genovia, in the best way). Her makeup was flushed and glowy, with a swipe of sparkly eyeshadow, flushed pinky cheeks, and a super glossy pink lip, courtesy of makeup artist Gucci Westman and her eponymous luxury beauty brand Westman Atelier.

If you told us these were photos of the Princess of Genovia, we'd believe you. It's settled: the milky manicure is fit for a princess, and with Hathaway's approval, will be everywhere this summer.
