Saturn's Rings & Galileo's Moons - An Evening at PARI Event is Sept. 22 at PARI – Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute. Overnight and camping options are also available. For details, visit pari.edu.

Autumn at Oz is at Land of Oz in Beech Mountain, North Carolina Sept. 22 – 24. This event combines a festival atmosphere with an interactive, immersive theatrical experience. Guests walk onto the Gale’s Kansas farm, visit Aunt Em and Uncle Henry’s Home, escape into the newly renovated Tornado Storm Cellar, and walk out on the Yellow Brick Road into the world of Oz. Fall 2023 Kolo Bike Park Shred Session is 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sept. 23. This session is for advanced riders ages 8 – 15. For registration, cost and details, visit ashevilletreetopsadventurepark.com/camps.

BSA Scouting Merit Badge Adventure Weekend is Sept. 23 – 24 at Adventure Center of Asheville. Participate in merit badge workshops then camp, climb the Treetops Park or Zipline at the Adventure Center of Asheville. Registration is required. Mental Health Matters: Walk/Run for Awareness is Sept. 23 at UNC-Asheville. Walk or run around UNCA's newly installed track or choose a 5K Walk/Run through campus. The event will also feature a mental health resource fair and all proceeds will benefit All Souls Counseling Center. No entry fee for ages 22 and younger. The ASAP (Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project) 2023 Farm Tour is noon – 5 p.m. Sept. 23 – 24 at farms across four geographic clusters. These farms showcase the diversity of agriculture in the region, from vegetables to livestock, orchards to homesteads, and are all located within an hour of Asheville. Tourgoers can experience working farms through guided and self-guided tours, demonstrations, interacting with farm animals, u-pick fruit and flowers, local food tastings, and more. The tour is appropriate for attendees of all ages and abilities. Select two to four farms to visit each day, spending around an hour at each. Splash and Bubbles: Dive In, Lend a Fin opens Sept. 23 at the Upcountry History Museum in Greenville, South Carolina. Join Splash, Bubbles, and the Reeftown Rangers in exploring marine biology, ocean science and different ocean ecosystems. The exhibit continues through Feb. 4, 2024. ARTRAGEOUS is at 10 a.m. Sept. 25 at the Wortham Center for the Performing Arts. See amazing works of visual art come to life on stage in this fusion of art, music, puppetry, dance, and more. Connect with the artists in a post-show Q&A. Recommended for grades 3 – 8. Tickets on sale now – The 11th Annual Haunted Trail at the Adventure Center of Asheville is Oct. 6 – 7, 13 – 14, 20 –22 and 27 –30. Created for families with kids ages 3 – 12, the event includes spooky scenes with live actors, music, games and more, plus Treetops Adventure Park turns into a Glow Trail with 15,00 lights for a fun night climb.
