Wegmans Recalling Over 1,000 Pounds of Chicken

Wegmans Food Markets is voluntarily recalling 1,125 pounds of marinated chicken products they realized had not undergone federal safety inspections.

The products, packaged on Jan. 3 and sold under the Wegmans name, are:

  • Wegmans Italian Flavored Chicken Breast Cutlet, in vacuum-sealed packages weighing approximately one pound, with a use-by date of 1/24/2016.

  • Wegmans Brown Sugar Barbecue Seasoned Chicken Breast Cutlet, in vacuum-sealed packages weighing approximately one pound, with a use-by date of 1/15/2016.

  • Wegmans Garlic & Fennel Whole Chicken Roaster, in vacuum-sealed packages weighing approximately three pounds, with a use-by date of 1/13/2016.

No adverse health effects associated with consumption of the uninspected products have been reported, according to news releases from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Wegmans.

According to the release, the products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. or P-7567” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to distribution and retail locations in Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

If you’ve purchased any of these products, you can return them to the Wegmans store where they were purchased for a refund.
