New weekly farmers’ market opens at Arden Fair Mall

(FOX40.COM) — A new weekly farmers’ market has opened in Sacramento.

The Arden Fair Farmers’ Market opened on April 13 in the mall’s parking lot along Arden Way near the former Sears store, on the west end of the site.

The market features over 40 produce and crafts vendors, along with bakeries and food trucks.

The market will operate every Saturday until November, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1689 Arden Way.

The market has an online tool that shows which vendors are slated to attend that week along with a map of parking for both vendors and customers.

The new farmers’ market is run by Sactown Farmers Markets, a Sacramento-based market organization run by local farmers. Sactown Farmers Markets also runs markets in Fair Oaks, Orangevale, Carmichael and McKinley Park in East Sacramento.

A back parking lot of the mall served as a temporary site for the Sunday Certified Farmers’ Market.

That farmers’ market temporarily moved to the Arden Fair Mall parking lot due to a construction project on the W/X freeway bridge across from Southside Park.

The Sunday farmers’ market moved back to its original location on 8th and W Streets under the highway in July 2023.
