Weekly Astrology, July 31-August 6: Ushering in Destiny

One of the most highly anticipated astrological events of 2022 is about to exert its influence on us. The conjunction that begins the week is the culmination of energy that has been stirring beneath the surface for some time and has the potential to create significant change for our individual lives as well as our collective path forward. Expect a spark of freedom and an unfolding of destiny.
Mars, Uranus, and North Node conjunction
On August 1, we experience a rare conjunction of Mars, Uranus, and the North Node. In astrology, a conjunction is when one or more planets come together in the same sign. The closer the planets are to one another, the greater the influence of the personalities involved.
Mars speaks to our fire, instinct, motivation, action, and willpower. It's the warrior planet of the cosmos and instills in us a passion that builds and builds in our hearts and bodies until we cannot help but take a step forward.
Uranus represents liberation, change, freedom, awakening, and authenticity. It is the lightning bolt that comes in and breaks apart what is present so that it may initiate what is next. Its energy is quick, precise, and often unexpected. The one certainty is that each action Uranus takes is in service to our awakening and freedom.
The North Node, unlike Mars and Uranus, is not a planet but rather a mathematical point in the sky representing the Moon’s orbit along the ecliptic. In astrology, it speaks to destiny, our guiding light that takes us into our greatest growth, fulfillment, and purpose. It holds the desire to move forward, away from the ways of the past.
This gathering takes place in Taurus, our zodiac of earthly pleasures, stability, security, and resources. As an Earth sign, Taurus doesn't necessarily like change. The energy created with this conjunction, however, seems to require exactly that.
Mars wants us to act, to step forward, to say yes to the passion sparking within our hearts. Uranus is like our sacred rebel. It is not here to conform. It is here for truth. The North Node is our destiny. It has no ties to where we currently are, it's too busy hanging out in the knowing of our greatest potential and path forward.
This energy invites a certain cracking open for great change to occur, a destabilization so that we may be led toward building a new foundation--one that is rooted in truth, freedom, and liberation.
Mercury enters Virgo
On August 4, Mercury finds itself in Virgo, where it is comfortable, at home, and beautifully supported.
Mercury is a quick-moving planet representing the mind, communication, intellect, and learning. As a planet, it doesn't spend a lot of time within any particular sign, almost mimicking the speed and movement of our own minds, from one thought to the next.
One of the super powers of Virgo is its precision. It is organized, detailed, and clear. It holds itself--and, therefore, everything it touches--to a high standard.
With Mercury in this practical Earth sign, our efforts become smoother, our minds become highly engaged in the details, we're quick, focused, and able to think and process information in a way that is practical and fine-tuned. Virgo bestows a certain precision to our thoughts. If there have been conversations waiting to be had, paperwork needing to be done, contracts to be prepared, or details needing to be addressed, this is where the path becomes clear. Mercury and Virgo elevate one another.
Another beautiful invitation that sparks from the cosmos whenever we engage with Virgo energy is the refinement of our everyday routines and habits that bring us health. It's an energy that looks at each small step, reminding us that it is these small efforts in our lives that make up the whole.

Witness where your truth is changing. Remain open to new directions calling your name. Allow yourself to be adaptable. Create the space for a new narrative. Re-envision your path.
Allow spaciousness in your day to actively re-envision what you desire for yourself. You might be surprised at what is now inviting us toward it, both individually and collectively. This week is like a door swinging open, inviting you to a new path, a new mission. It is a giant green light giving you absolute and total permission to lean into where your truth strongly points.
As Mercury moves into Virgo, let your thought process devote itself to the changes that are being made. Look at the details, the small steps, and the ways that you can rework your days, routines, and habits to act in support of the path that is calling you forward.
