The Weather Room named most beautiful restaurant in Kansas
TOPEKA (KSNT) – A downtown Topeka restaurant is getting nationwide recognition as one of the most beautiful places to eat in America this year.
People Magazine recently released an article titled “The 50 Most Beautiful Restaurants in America,” naming The Weather Room in Topeka as their pick for the state of Kansas. The restaurant and bar is located in Topeka’s Cyrus Hotel located at 920 S. Kansas Avenue.
“This modern steakhouse in Topeka evokes the state’s pastoral landscape with emerald green banquettes and golden-hued curtains.”

What happened to these Kansas counties and why do they no longer exist?
Bob Ross with the Greater Topeka Partnership (GTP) said in a press release the restaurant was created with a combination of modern and classic flair by AIM Strategies. The main idea behind the restaurant’s design is to evoke feelings of progress and nostalgia in guests.
“I am thrilled to see the Weather Room receive this national recognition by such a popular magazine,” said Ashley Gilfillan, president of Downtown Topeka. “The restaurant located inside the Cyrus Hotel has become an important destination on Kansas Avenue, and we are excited that more may discover what it has to offer as a result of this recognition.”
