Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away, meaning we’re close to one of my favorite food holidays—the day after. That’s when the Thanksgiving leftovers come out, and they turn into all sorts of deliciousness, including a Thanksgiving sandwich—leftover turkey, stuffing, jellied cranberry sauce, and mayo on toast.

That’s how I make a Thanksgiving sandwich. But the ingredients can change from person to person. Some people add mashed potatoes to the mix. Others add some gravy. If there are Thanksgiving leftovers in there, it’s a legitimate Thanksgiving sandwich.

Wawa, a convenience store with over 1,000 locations on the East Coast, doesn’t want its customers to have to wait until after Thanksgiving to experience the flavor combination of the sandwich.

Wawa's Gobbler Hoagie Sandwich and Gobbler Bowl

Wawa’s homage to the Thanksgiving sandwich is the Gobbler Hoagie, released at least a month before Thanksgiving. Now it (along with a few variations) is back at Wawa. Fans are very excited to get a taste of the holiday several weeks early.

When Mandy of Instagram’s eatdrinkandbemandy posted a video with her Gobbler bowl and commented, “It’s a true love affair,” her followers understood her feelings. In the video, she said it’s “one of my favorite things in the whole entire world.”

“The best seasonal goodie!” one comment dubbed the Gobbler. Another seemed to be planning a trip to Wawa very soon, “Omg yes!!!!! I tried to get this two weeks ago and couldn’t!!!”

The Gobber in the video wasn’t a hoagie. It was a bowl with a layer of stuffing on the bottom, topped with roast turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, and cranberry sauce. The bowl and the hoagie are customizable like all good Thanksgiving sandwiches are.

Mandy knew just the right way to eat it, too. She made sure to get a little of each ingredient on her fork before taking a bite. That’s how I eat the ingredients when they’re on my Thanksgiving plate. I get a little of everything on the fork—it’s just such a flavor blast!

The Gobbler Hoagie comes on a hoagie roll stuffed with hot turkey, gravy, stuffing, and cranberry sauce—very similar to my Thanksgiving sandwich. Two variations on the hoagie are a Gobbler Hoagie with Mashed Potatoes and a Gobbler Hoagie with Sweet Potatoes.

Search Instagram, and you’ll find other Gobbler posts and the configurations its fans enjoy. “It’s the most wonderful time of the year. The #wawagobbler is back baby! I’m partial to the cold version with some of their hot honey,” posted inluvwithluv475.

Or, if you’re near a Wawa yourself and don’t want to wait until Thanksgiving to taste its deliciousness, pop in and get a Gobbler, whichever way makes your heart happy.
