Now that’s one grand finale. The Watters Bridal Fashion Week Show ended Saturday, April 14 with a moving and adorable, surprise proposal for one of its models.

The Knot was there to witness the special moment between the couple, Chad Stapleton and Nicole Kaspar, as the designers for Watters and its diffusion lines walked out with their respective models. According to one eyewitness, the final designer Elias Gutierrez walked out with Kaspar for his respective bow, and in that moment, he held her back as her boyfriend made his way onto the runway.

“I’ve been thinking about this for a long time,” Stapleton said in the proposal. “I can’t believe I’m doing this. On a runway. While you’re doing what you love.”

The declaration included several adorable snippets about their relationship. “I’ve never really believed at love at first sight,” he continued before dropping to one knee. He then expressed, “That woman, until now, has made me happier than I ever thought I would be.”

Stapleton, a dentist, and Kaspar have an equally sweet love story. “We met in Las Vegas through mutual friends,” the future bride tells The Knot. “My tooth had cracked and part of it fell out, and so at lunch they were asking Chad to look at it.” She recalls, “I was so embarrassed because he was so cute.”

That didn’t deter Stapleton from following up. “He wrote me on Instagram while I was living in Paris,” she adds, “and we went on our first date the day I came back. The rest is history.”
