The details

Tired of normal floss? Same. Instead of having to weave it through each tooth, this gadget will do what your dentist does — blast build-up from between your teeth and your gumline, leaving you with a sparkling clean smile. It has three pressure options, so you can rev it up to full speed for some deep cleaning or keep it on low when your gums are feeling sensitive.

It’s also cordless, which means you won’t have to snake it around the other toiletries that live on your bathroom counter. And, it’s rechargeable, so you won’t have to stress about buying batteries.

As for accoutrements, along with the charger, storage case and travel bag, you’ll get two classic jet tips, an orthodontic tip and one plaque seeker tip, so you can play around with what suits you best.

Why I love it

As I have said, I really hate the chore of flossing, and this water flosser makes life so much easier. You simply hover the Waterpik over whatever area you want to clean and it blasts it with water, clearing away plaque and build-up. And because it’s so easy and painless, I actually floss every morning and night.

Since using it, my dentist has given me top marks. It’s also made my professional cleanings faster and much less painful (who doesn’t want that?).

Oh, and because it comes with multiple heads, my boyfriend and I don’t have to buy two devices — we can just share one and switch out the top when we want to use it.

What others are saying

Amazon Canada reviewers are also huge fans of the Waterpik. It’s earned over 56,000 customer reviews and has an average rating of 4.2 stars.

One reviewer says it has “revolutionized [their] dental care routine,” and many others echo the same sentiment, including myself. They also highlight that it's “perfect for those with braces or other dental work” since it’s able to get to hard-to-reach areas without any effort.

Reviewers with kids also say it’s made things much easier for them. One says their kids even fight about who gets to floss first thanks to this gadget.

Another loves it because it’s water-resistant, so they can take it in the shower and kill two birds with one stone. I don’t know about you, but anything that makes my morning routine less stressful is a win in my book.

But not every single reviewer is a fan. Some people felt as though the reservoir is "too small" and were annoyed that they have to refill it several times to get the job done. Others say the charge doesn't hold nearly as long as it claims to.

If you keep your device near a plug and plan on flossing by your sink, these aren't insurmountable issues, but I can understand why they might put a person off.

Final thoughts

I seriously hate going to the dentist, and the Waterpik has made my visits shorter and less painful. It also helps get into all the nooks and crannies of my teeth, so nothing gets missed. Also, it’s great for those who have had dental work or deal with braces, retainers, or other hardware in their mouths. Basically, if you want cleaner and healthier teeth and gums, you need this in your life.
