Waterford Historical Society event explores mid-1800s life

May 9—WATERFORD — The Waterford Historical Society will hold its first Second Saturday event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the society's historic buildings and on Jordan Green at 65 Rope Ferry Road.

The event, "Common Threads," offers reenactments by the Dirty Blue Shirts historians' collective sharing their knowledge and demonstrations of local culture, fiber arts from samplers to sails, everyday history, sheep farming and more.

Bringing to life the past of those who lived and learned in the mid-1800s in Waterford, the event is for adults and children alike and is free to the public. Donations to the society are accepted. For more information, visit waterfordhistoricalsociety.org.
