FYI, there's a solar eclipse happening this upcoming Monday, April 8, and you don't want to miss it. But, be warned: You shouldn't watch the solar eclipse without a pair of solar eclipse glasses, as it can be very damaging to your eyes (I mean, you are looking directly at the sun).

It is important to note, though, that solar eclipse glasses are not the same as your regular, polarized sunglasses. According to NASA, Solar eclipse glasses are about 100,000 times darker than regular sunnies so they have the ability to block all visible light as well as infrared and ultraviolet light.

Although NASA recommend using solar-safe binoculars and telescopes for viewing the eclipse, not all of us own one of those. Instead, we found a bunch of solar eclipse viewing glasses on Amazon, and some are even discounted for up to 33 percent off (!!).

Interested in viewing the eclipse? You can see the partial eclipse from any part of the U.S., but the path of totality (which are the areas in which you can see the moon completely block the sun) will range across 15 U.S. states from Mexico to Texas, all the way to Maine, and into Canada. You can view the exact map on nasa.com.

According to NASA, totality lasts up to four minutes and 28 seconds, depending on the viewer's location within the path. The first U.S. location that the total eclipse will hit is Dallas, TX, with totality beginning at 1:40 pm CDT. The last location the total eclipse will hit is Caribou, ME, with totality beginning at 3:32 pm EDT. These areas, and all the areas in-between, will also experience a partial eclipse before and after these times.

Now, back to the glasses. We recommend going with the Medical King Solar Eclipse Glasses, which are currently going for 33 percent off. And, more importantly, they adhere to the safety regulations set by the American Astronomical Society. They use solar safe filter technology, which helps shield your eyes from IR, UV, and visible light. Plus, they're not flimsy like some of the other options on this list, so these are super long-lasting if you need to use them later down the line.

And, the other options are also solid choices if you're looking for a one-time deal. However, the Medical King Solar Eclipse Glasses mentioned above are def the editor-approved choice if you're looking for something sturdy and durable.

So, what are you waiting on? Whether you're in the total eclipse zone or watching from afar, get your hands on a pair of viewing glasses ASAP.
