Watching Dog Learn to Use Stairs After Having Her Leg Amputated Is So Inspiring

We are so proud of her!

Daisy the Golden Retriever mix is such a special dog. Not only was she rescued in 2020 after a rear leg amputation, but she's crushing every milestone in her healing since then! In a recent TikTok video, her owner reflected on just how far she's come when it comes to going up the stairs.

She and her brother Ralph--who is also a 'tripawd' dog with only three legs--show off their adventures and everyday lives on their account, @thetripawdtwins. It's the definition of precious, but it's also incredibly inspiring!

You go, Daisy! We love seeing her epic transformation, though even that first step she took felt like such a win. Even her viewers were cheering her on through the screen!

"Not me saying 'there ya go' after that first step," @djfan300 commented on the video. That's so sweet! We were rooting for her while we watched the clip, too, though nothing can compare to her confidence with the stairs today. It's truly inspiring to see!

@Samanthaamiller pointed out that "you can see her trying to move the leg that’s not there." That got us right in the feels! We're sure it was a huge adjustment at first, but just like Daisy's owner replied, "now she knows she doesn’t need it and she’s flying!" Not only is that heartwarming to see, but it's also uplifting for anyone with pets who might be experiencing something similar.

"This gives me hope," said @ayell17. "We might have to amputate my dog's back right leg and I was worried about him going upstairs!" Well--worry no more. With enough love and patience, they'll be just fine!
