'The Watcher' Fans, Prepare to Be Disappointed by the Show’s Season 2 Announcement
If you thought seven episodes of the true crime thriller The Watcher wasn't enough, then you're in luck. The Netflix series starring Naomi Watts and Bobby Cannavale has officially been renewed for a second season.
Inspired by real events popularized by a 2018 article in The Cut, the story about the Broaddeaus family being stalked by an unknown individual who referred to himself as "The Watcher" has become a must-watch for mystery lovers and true-crime buffs. Season 1 of The Watcher ended up with the on-screen Brannock family no closer to discovering the identity of the person sending them creepy letters to their new home at 657 Boulevard in in Westfield, New Jersey, which leaves a lot of potential storylines for the second season.
Although more news is slowly trickling in about the newest season of The Watcher, here's everything to know about the season 2 release date, cast, spoilers and more.
When is The Watcher coming back for season 2?
Since Netflix only tweeted the news on November 7 that the show had been greenlit for new episodes, viewers shouldn't expect to see season 2 anytime soon. Outlets are predicting that it will most likely be available in late 2023 at the earliest.
Following the record-breaking success of DAHMER - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, Ryan Murphy & Ian Brennan will create two more installments that will focus on other monstrous figures who have impacted society.

Who is in the cast of The Watcher season 2?
If the show continues with the same storyline as season 1, here's who we're guessing The Watcher season 2 cast will include:
Naomi Watts as Nora Brannock
Bobby Cannavale as Dean Brannock
Isabel Gravitt as Ellie Brannock
Luke David Blumm as Carter Brannock
Jennifer Coolidge as Karen Calhoun
Margo Martindale as Maureen/Mo
Richard Kind as Mitch
Mia Farrow as Pearl Winslow
Terry Kinney as Jasper Winslow
What will The Watcher season 2 be about?
Much like the real-life family, the Brannocks ended up selling their newly renovated home at 657 Boulevard at the end of season 1, finally driven out by the frightening stalker.
Although viewers didn't end up finding out the identity of "The Watcher" the season ominously ended with Karen (Jennifer Coolidge), the Brannock's realtor who sold them the large property, running away screaming after encountering "The Watcher" herself, leading many to believe season 2 will continue following the same characters from season 1.
However, since the real-life family's story ended there, season 2 would potentially be a fictionalized continuation of the riveting mystery. Hopefully, more details will be released so fans know what to expect come next year.
