Since the premiere of Netflix’s dark series The Watcher, viewers have been captivated by the tale created by American Horror Story's Ryan Murphy and the real-life events that inspired it. While the true story occurred in Westfield, New Jersey, at 657 Boulevard, the actual "Watcher house" wasn’t used for the show. Instead, a New York home's exterior plays the part of the infamous residence.

Located at 1 Warriston Lane in Rye, New York, the home is about 30 miles northeast of Manhattan. Like 657 Boulevard, it’s a shingle-style house, but the New York home is much grander than its real-life counterpart. It features six bedrooms and seven bathrooms that span 10,166 square feet, according to Zillow, whereas the New Jersey home has six bedrooms, four bathrooms, and spans 3,869 square feet.

Built in 2016 by VanderHorn Architects, the New York home is a much newer structure than The Watcher house, which was constructed in 1905. It sits on a bigger piece of land that’s 1.25 acres compared to The Watcher house’s 0.46-acre lot. It sold for $1.93 million in August 2020, according to property records. Zillow currently estimates the home to be about $6.28 million.

The New York residence certainly has a lot of qualities a family might want in a dream home. Not only is the four-floor structure spacious, but it has a chef’s kitchen with Calcutta stone, an indoor basketball court, a movie room, six fireplaces, a golf simulator, a 70-foot pool, stone walls, and water views. Since both of the homes are occupied (yes, The Watcher house has new owners), make sure not to trespass or bother the residents should you pass by them in real life. Take a quick look and move along!
