Tahiti's Vahine Fierro has made it to the quarterfinals of the Shiseido Tahiti Pro.

Fierro took the win over Aussies Stephanie Gilmore and Tyler Wright.

About a week ago, the World Surf League (WSL) announced that Fierro was the women's wildcard pick.

The WSL captioned the video above:

"Local wildcard @vahinefierro is on to the Quarterfinals of the @shiseido #TahitiPro!"

The "Queen of Teahupo'o" caught four waves, with her two highest scores 5.93 and 7.50. Even though Gilmore topped Fierro on wave count with a total of five rides, her two highest scores were 2.30 and 2.43. Wright caught two waves, with scores of 0.20 and 0.77.

Looks like Nathan and Mahina Florence were on point earlier today, when they put their faith in Fierro as a potential contest winner based on local knowledge.

As we recently reported, the surf report looked pretty dismal. But according to the WSL website, the heat was held in four to six foot surf with light winds.

She'll go for the gold in the Paris 2024 Olympics at Teahupo'o. She provisionally qualified for a spot as the top-ranked female surfer from Europe at the International Surfing Association's World Surfing Games in June.

In a recent interview with Olympics.com, Fierro offered her advice for surfing Chopes:

"You have to be confident, that's what the wave demands. Give the best of yourself and see where it takes us.”

Looks like it worked for her today.

Viewers were psyched in the post's comments:

"Let’s go @vahinefierro 🔥🔥🔥"

"VAhine 🔥"

"Let’s go ❤️ Vahine 🔥"

"She is out of my fantasy 🤯"

"My Pick to take home the 👑 G0 @vahinefierro"
