The Crown comes to an end this week after six exceptional seasons peeling back the curtain of the world's most famous family. The final six episodes introduce Ed McVey as Prince William and Meg Bellamy as Kate Middleton.

The series picks up after Princess Diana's tragic death, with Prince William heading back to school amidst an increase in attention from the entire world, and especially young girls. The first episode is a bit boring, I thought, but the rest of the episodes truly take off in typical Crown fashion. We see Prince William meet Kate Middleton (Bellamy, who is absolutely captivating), and learn more about the early days of their romance.

Kate (Meg Bellamy) and William (Ed McVey) in the second half of The Crown's final season. Stay tuned this week for an interview with Bellamy, as well as the show's costume designers, who spill the tea on all of Kate's outfits.

In another episode, Princess Margaret suffers a stroke and is suddenly forced to reassess her lifestyle. Leslie Manville turns in a tour-de-force performance as the spare royal in the episode titled “Ritz.” As the series comes to a close, the Queen mourns her sister and her mother, and the country and the world celebrates Elizabeth's Golden Jubilee.

As of press time, Netflix has not made the final episode available, but my hope is that we see Claire Foy (who has made a few cameos via flashbacks since she stopped playing Elizabeth after season two) and Olivia Colman return for one last hurrah.

In movie news, Timothée Chalamet stars as Willy Wonka himself in the highly-anticipated, Wonka. Early reactions have been pretty positive, with Chalamet garnering high praise for his portrayal of the eccentric candyman.

There's so much more worth your time this week, from Julia (it's time to go to the White House!) to an all-new SNL hosted by Kate McKinnon. Plus, Frosty the Snowman, A Charlie Brown Christmas, the National Tree Lighting, the Daytime Emmys, and more. There's also Hallmark's newest Hanukkah movie starring Bryan Greenberg (by the way, Happy Hanukkah to all who celebrate!) Oh yeah, and did I mention Barbie? It's finally coming to Max with some special additions. See below!

Read on for more and I'll see you back here next week.

Sunday, December 10

Round & Round (Hallmark Channel): Bryan Greenberg, Rick Hoffman, and Vic Michaelis star in Hallmark's newest Hanukkah movie, which finally changes up the formula and gives us something other than what has often felt like a Hanukkah history lesson. Michaelis plays Rachel, a woman stuck in a time loop, reliving the night of her parents' Hanukkah party. Greenberg plays Zach, the ‘nice Jewish boy’ that Rachel's grandmother is trying to set her up with, who then gets tasked with helping her get out of her alternate reality. The concept is a bit out there, but there's so much to love about this new holiday movie. 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT

Yes, Chef! Christmas (Lifetime): Here's the official synopsis for this new holiday Lifetime movie: “Alicia Gellar (Tia Mowry) is a culinary school instructor who has put both her true career aspirations and personal life on the back burner. But this holiday season, fate is on her side. She is invited to compete in the city’s annual Kringle Cook Off and learns a family secret that could change everything and be the big break she needs to become a respected chef like her former boss Bobby (Buddy Valastro). There to mentor her through the competition is the fiery chef and Kringle protégé, Logan (Luke Humphrey), who Alicia builds a real connection with, despite their rocky start. But can Alicia win the cook-off and prove to herself that she is the capable head chef that Logan believes her to be? And will she be accepted by the Kringles if she shares the truth with them? She will have to put it all on the line to find out.” And btw, if you're looking for the perfect cake to eat while watching, I highly recommend Carlo's Bake Shop rainbow cake, which is quite possibly one of the best cakes I've ever had. 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT

MasterChef Junior: Home for the Holidays (Fox): In this two-night event, Gordon Ramsay welcomes nine young culinary contestants to cook up treats for Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Lunar New Year, and more. Per Netflix, “viewers will get a first-hand look at the pressure, the euphoria, the joy, and the hardships that these world-class athletes experience as they strive to capture their third World Cup title in a row. Issues ranging from injury, criticism and doubt, equal pay, and upholding legacies are all brought to light as the narrative unfolds. The series will capture all of the personal and team preparation on the road to the 2023 FIFA World Cup. Throughout their tournament run, audiences will learn how this team stands on the shoulders of those who played before them, and how they continue to break the glass ceiling for equality in sports for women of the future.” Streaming
