Valentino Guseli embodies the term “full send.” The Australian snowboarder officially broke the world record for the highest air on a snowboard on April 12 by hucking himself an eye-watering 37.72 feet in the air at the infamous Swatch Nines in Schilthorn, Switzerland.

“I was just going as big as I could,” Guseli said. “I’d say it’s the biggest hip I ever hit. And the thing that’s gnarly about it is, when you first hit it, you already have to go big.”

Guseli beat the old record by just a hair. It was set by Christian Haller in Watles, Italy in 2016, and his jump measured 37.07 feet high.

Guseli has been on the scene for a while now, grabbing attention from his early years. When he was just 12, Snowboarder magazine took notice of how freakishly good he was and dropped an edit that featured him destroying the terrain at Superpark, a famed film and photo fest at Mammoth Mountain.

With his latest record, Guseli has cemented himself even more firmly in the annals of snowboarding, and at the young age of 19, he’s got plenty more in the tank.
