How To Watch UCI Mountain Bike Racing In 2024

After some uncertainty about the future of live racing coverage following the news of the closure of GCN+ set for December 19th by its parent company, Discovery, mountain bike racing again has a home.

Max, HBO's streaming service, will be taking over live racing coverage for the foreseeable future. Race coverage will be on the Bleacher Report Live Sports add-on to Max which costs an additional $10 monthly on top of Max's base monthly price which ranges from $10 to $20 depending on the tier you choose.

Max is not only taking over the UCI Mountain Bike World Series, it will be covering Tour De France and Giro d'Italia cycling, cyclocross, BMX, and more.

Per their press release, "Live cycling coverage on Max will include more than 300 of the world’s biggest racing events, including the prestigious Giro d’Italia, all race weekends of the UCI Mountain Bike World Series, all rounds of the UCI Track Champions League, 53 women’s World Tour Pro Series broadcasts, the E3 Saxo Bank Classic, the Kuurne–Brussels–Kuurne, and more. All in, Max will be the one to watch for U.S. cycling fans, offering more live cycling event coverage throughout the year than any other streaming service."

Max also announced a new pre- and post-race coverage show similar to traditional sports analysis talk shows called The Breakaway which subscribers will also have access to.

All in all, this is very exciting news for cycling and MTB fans to now have a reliable and easily accessible streaming platform for racing. Coverage is set to begin in February of 2024 and you can sign up for Max and the Bleacher Report add-on right here.
