Straight Girls Kiss Other Girls for the First Time — and Some Liked It

You can’t knock it till you try it. That’s exactly what one straight woman said after French-kissing another woman for the first time. In a recent YouTube video, straight girls were asked to kiss another girl — and some liked it. Others thought it was just all right, and others felt just plain awkward. The video was posted by Bria & Chrissy, a pair of YouTubers with the tagline “Face Your Fears.” Fitting.

They enlisted two lesbians to do the kissing, and three straight women lose their female-Frenching virginity. A few of the couples hugged upon meeting and chatted a little. “I’ve never cuddled or been intimate with a women that wasn’t, um, my mom,” said Laci, one of the straight women. Ansley, another straight woman, said she’s spooned with her best friend during sleepovers, but that was about it. They are in the majority, but that majority is smaller than you think. A 2012 study found that one-third of straight college women have hooked up with girls at parties.

Well, this wasn’t necessarily a party, but these girls were about to cross over to the other side of that fraction.

“Wanna make out?” said Claire, the third straight woman. When the different couples were given the go-ahead, the women embraced their partners and locked lips, some eagerly, some not so much. And while the kisses were interesting, it’s what came after that got us going — when the straight women were asked what they thought.

“I feel fine, I don’t feel any different,” Ansley said of the experience. Laci had a similar reaction. “That was good … I’m still straight,” she said.

“Sexual experience does not equal sexual orientation,” said Stevie, a fellow YouTuber who earlier this year let straight women and gay men touch her vagina for educational purposes.

“The boxes that we create for each other harm us more than they help anyone,” Laci said. “If people are free to do what they want and explore what they like, I think it makes everyone happier.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.

If it takes kissing girls to spread that inclusive way of thinking, we’ll open a kissing booth.
