Da Hui Backdoor Shootout in memory of Duke Kahanamoku went off earlier this month with Volcom taking the team win and Billy Kemper winning the individual category.
While the contest kicked off in firing surf, the waves eventually fizzled out and the final day lingered in question. When the last day went off, Balaram Stack, Makana Pang, Moana Jones Wong, Makai Burdine, and Noa Deane took the win as team Volcom.
In her latest vlog below, the 2023 Pipe Masters winner shares a contest recap.

"Da Hui backdoor shootout 2024 was awesome! Stoked to surf empty Pipeline with my teammates! I did not get the waves I wanted but that's okay, surfing pipeline with no one out is always so special.
"Pipeline is such a challenge. I am always on my toes, always learning and always obsessed. This wave will take you for the rollercoaster ride of emotions haha. One day you feel on top of the world and the next day you get force-fed some humble pie!!!
"Lately there has been A LOT of injuries out here this season and it is scary. It definitely freaks me out and makes me even more cautious. It is hard to push yourself but also at the same time potentially get hurt pushing yourself. You are pretty much at the mercy of PIPELINE and you never know what will happen.
"You just gotta think positive and the less you think about the consequences the better. Regardless of how scary this wave is, I will always be captivated and in awe! I will always keep coming back for more. I hope you enjoy this vlog!"
