The biggest day in football is here — and so we trust that you've got your Super Bowl party plans figured out and some game-day snacks in the oven. This year, it's the San Francisco 49ers vs. the Kansas City Chiefs, with a halftime performance by Jennifer Lopez and Shakira. Demi Lovato will sing the national anthem.

Think all that sounds amazing? So do we! That's why we've rounded up all the ways you can watch the Super Bowl for free, whether you have cable or not. With so many options, you'll be able to stream the game on Apple TV, Fire TV, Android TV, and most other devices (and if worst comes to worst, you can use a good old HDMI cable and your laptop).

What time does the Super Bowl start?

The 49ers and the Chiefs will kick off at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Sunday, February 2, 2020, at 6:30 p.m ET. The game broadcast begins at 6 p.m. and the pregame show begins at 2 p.m. If you want to entertain yourself with some non-football programming, you can watch the Puppy Bowl at 3 p.m. on Animal Planet.

What channel is the Super Bowl on?

The Super Bowl LIV airs on Fox.

How to watch the Super Bowl 2020 without cable:

No cable? No worries! You can stream the game for free on the Fox Sports and Fox Now apps without authentication. That mean's you won't need to sign in to a cable account — or even have one in the first place — in order to watch the game. You can also stream the game for free on FoxSports.com.

The Fox apps work on all sorts of devices, including Apple TV, XBox, Android TV, FireTV, and Samsung Smart TV. After a last-minute contract dispute, the Fox apps will most likely not work on Roku devices on Super Bowl Sunday, according to reports by The Verge.

So are there other ways to watch the Super Bowl for free?

The good news for Roku TV owners — and anyone else who doesn't want to use the Fox apps or website — is that there are several other ways to watch the Super Bowl 2020 without cable, and a few of them offer free trials. Here are three services that mimic cable and will allow you to watch the Super Bowl 2020.

  • Philo: The streaming service Philo offers access to 50+ channels for $20 a month. You can watch it on any device, including Roku TV, Apple TV, Android TV, and Fire TV. Philo offers a seven-day free trial.

  • FuboTV: Fubu costs $54 a month for 109 channels. There's a seven-day free trial.

  • Hulu + Live TV: If you've already got Hulu, this add-on costs $55 a month. If you don't have Hulu, you can start a free one-month trail now.

No matter which streaming option you choose, you'll want to set it up early to ensure that it works. That way, all you'll have to do at game time is sit back, relax (OK, try to relax), and eat all those aforementioned snacks.
