Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is chugging right along with film releases like Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and the television shows Secret Invasion and Loki, and fans are loving the multiverse concept that’s tying all of the content together. Now, the newest Marvel movie, The Marvels, is set to join Phase Five, and it includes a lot of familiar faces from other MCU movies and TV shows you’ve watched.

The Marvels is a follow up to the first Captain Marvel movie, and the Disney+ TV series Ms. Marvel, and it follows Captain Marvel as she gets caught in timelines with Monica Rambeau (who we also saw as a hero in WandaVision) and Kamala Khan. The Marvels definitely has big shoes to fill, as the first film grossed over $1.1 billion worldwide. Captain Marvel was also the fifth-highest-grossing film of 2019, and it ended up being the first female-led superhero film to pass the billion dollar mark.

Directed by Nia DaCosta (who last helmed the 2021 Jordan Peele-produced Candyman) and coming in at 1 hour and 45 minutes, the movie will contain the key to clues left in the characters’ previous appearances, and Marvel enthusiasts are ready for the next part of the story. The Marvels was released in theaters on Friday, November 10, and for now, it’s the only way to watch the movie.

When will The Marvels be available to stream?

The Marvels is not currently available to stream online, although like all other Marvel properties before it, we can expect it to hit Disney+ in the coming months. There hasn’t yet been word from Disney or Marvel on when that will be, but we can look to other films to estimate a streaming release date.

Black Widow premiered in theaters in June 2021, and it was made available for digital download in August. It was then released on DVD in September, and started streaming in October. Similarly, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 hit the big screen in May 2023, and by July it was released for digital download. DVD sales began in August, and it was available on Disney+ a day later.

If Disney follows the structure from their other releases, The Marvels will be available for digital download in January, DVD in February, and on Disney+ for streaming in March.
