Stephen Gilchrist Glover, aka Steve-O, has had a wild career, to say the least.

From circus performer, to OG member of the Jackass crew, to drug addiction, to recovery, to today – in which he still performs stunts, although sober, and has become sort of a success story for those struggling with substance abuse, while staying true to his roots and continuing to inflict pain on himself for the pleasure of others.

He’s also taken up surfing, too. More on that later. But below, check out his latest stunt: classically ill-advised, charmingly reckless, and always entertaining.

In the clip, we see Steve-O take a couple poisonous jellyfish and, willingly, drape them over his head and shoulders like a ceremonial, stinging crown.

“All I did was put these jellyfish on my head, and can you even believe it, they attacked me!” Steve-O wrote. “Also, I know there are going to be people commenting about cruelty to jellyfish— GTFOH… they have no nervous system!”

According to unofficial jellyfish treatment protocol, some urine might be in order; and commenters chimed in on that following the stings:

“Gonna need a lot of pee for those stings.”

“You’re always looking for an excuse to get pissed on.”

“Quick call R Kelly.”

As for Steve-O’s recent adult-learner surfing pursuits, he said:

“I’m kinda embarrassed to admit this, but when Johnny Knoxville started Bad Grandpa without the Jackass crew, I got very depressed. I thought, my career is over. I decided I just wanted to surf. I decided to commit myself with really learning how to surf.”

From there, Steve-O embarked on many worldwide surf trips – Costa Rica, Canada, Nicaragua, the Maldives, and more. And, of course, he brought some his trademark stunts along with him on his surfing escapes, including headstands.

As for the jellyfish stunt, no word yet on how that recovery process is going.

Surf career ender?

Nah, this is the same dude whose genitals were repeatedly stung by a horde of bees.

He’ll be good.
