Watch Sonique Take Dominatrix Chic to the Next Level on ‘Cosmo Queens’
Is it possible to feel both useless and inspired when it comes to doing my own makeup after just one video? Because Sonique got us feeling some type of way with this episode of Cosmo Queens, and all I have to say is WOW. It’s no secret that makeup is a powerful tool that can help anyone transform into a different person, and Sonique was sure to do it in less than five minutes by turning into a literal dominatrix goddess. I am here for ALL OF THIS.
Before she even sets up her base with foundation, Sonique goes in and defines her eyes with a solid combination of concealer and powder. She then perfectly smudges the black lining around her eyes by licking—yes, licking—her flat eyeshadow brush and softening any sharp edges. And honestly, achieving an edgy smokey eye that doesn’t look like a messy black blob takes some serious skill and precision. Meanwhile, I would literally look like a raccoon rolling out of a fast-food chain’s dumpster after a late-night dig. But anyway!
Okay, THEN she goes in with a foundation brush and applies her base under her eyes alongside a heavy dose of contour to become the Queen of All Cheekbones. Once her face is more defined than the Venus de Milo, she completes the bold eye look with a fiery cat eye and then goes back in with foundation, this time right above her jawline and around her contour because you can NEVER have too structure.
Before we can even process the beauty onscreen, the lashes are on, a nude-pink lip is applied, a nose ring is in the mix, and the face is properly beat. To finish up the look, Sonique whips out an electric-blue wig that pairs so perfectly with her eyeshadow, it makes us question whether we could ever be more in sync with our hair-makeup combo than she is in that moment.
And as a shimmery treat for all of us loyal stans, she finishes with a healthy dose of highlighter to those previously mentioned ever-so-defined cheekbones. If that wasn’t enough, add a full-on latex and chains outfit. Believe me, we are LIVING for this vibe.
