Selena Gomez’s new Hulu series finally has a trailer – and we're in for a Clue-worthy ride.

Following a 30-second announcement unveiled in May, on June 22, the streaming platform released the first teaser trailer for Only Murders in the Building. The upcoming limited series – starring Selena alongside longtime collaborators Steve Martin and Martin Short – follows “three strangers” who are said to “share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one.” Selena will play a character named Mabel Mora, while Martin and Steve will take on the roles of Oliver and Charles, respectively.

In the trailer, we see Selena sporting some of the outfits she had been spotted in while filming the series around New York City – including that mustard yellow sweater – as she nosily immerses herself in some crime drama alongside her two neighbors. “When a grisly death occurs inside their exclusive Upper West Side apartment building, the trio suspects murder and employs their precise knowledge of true crime to investigate the truth. Perhaps even more explosive are the lies they tell one another,” the series’ official synopsis reads. “Soon, the endangered trio comes to realize a killer might be living among them as they race to decipher the mounting clues before it's too late.”

Half comedy and half mystery, Hulu first announced the project in June 2020. News of Selena joining the cast came in August 2020, and the cast started filming on location in early December – as documented by Steve himself on Twitter. Steve also confirmed via the bird app that production for the series had officially wrapped in April after four months of filming.

The first episode of Only Murders in the Building will premiere on Hulu on August 31, with new episodes then releasing weekly for a total of ten.
