With in-person Pride events across the globe cancelled this year, the world is finding creative ways to celebrate the LGBTQA+ community. One such event is Pride Live's Stonewall Day livestream on June 26, which boasts a star-studded lineup including former President Barack Obama, Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato, and Hayley Kiyoko.

President Obama will continue his streak of virtual appearances by making a speech during the event. Meanwhile, Kiyoko and Kesha will deliver musical performances. Trans advocate and model Geena Rocero will host the proceedings, which commemorate the anniversary of the historic Stonewall Riots in 1969. The day of the livestream also holds special meaning as it falls on the fifth anniversary of the Supreme Court ruling in favor of marriage equality in every state. Proceeds from the live two-hour event will support LGBTQA+ organizations that have faced economic challenges since the pandemic, including Brave Space Alliance, TransLatin Coalition, Trans Lifeline, and The Ally Coalition. Ahead, how to watch the uplifting event on Friday, June 26.

How do I stream the Stonewall Day event?

The third annual edition of Pride Live's Stonewall Day will stream from 12:45 PM to 3:00 PM ET on Logo's Facebook and YouTube pages (a livestream is also embedded at the top of this page). This livestream comes during a time when many in-person celebrations for the LGBTQA+ community have been postponed or scrapped due to the coronavirus. Typically, New York City's annual Pride parade honors the Stonewall uprising, which occurred in response to a 1969 police raid at Greenwich Village's Stonewall Inn.

"As a trans woman and immigrant born and raised in the Philippines, it’s an honor to host a Pride event with such world-renowned talent," livestream host Rocero told People about the virtual event. "Working with Pride Live, we will ensure that Stonewall Day and its messages of community and resiliency reach LGBTQ people all over the world, especially LGBTQ people of color."

This year's Pride comes during a time when the Black Lives Matter movement has gained unprecedented traction. It's also highlighted the continued fight for equality and fair treatment that transgender women, particularly Black trans women, face. "COVID-19, and the recent events that have placed a national and global spotlight on the need for fair and equal treatment for all people, has impacted so many around the world and the LGBTQ+ community has not been immune," Dr. Yvette C. Burton, the president of the Pride Live board of directors, said in a statement, via People. "This has resulted in vital and life-saving LGBTQ+ organizations having to severely amend their budgets and programs," Dr. Burton continued. "Our hopes are Stonewall Day can assist our beneficiaries in continuing their work and service to the community."

What other celebrities are set to appear?

Obama, Swift, Lovato, Kesha, and Kiyoko aren't the only high-profile faces gracing the Stonewall Day livestream benefit. Meyers, Valerie Jarrett, Ryan Jamaal Swain, Richard Branson, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Luke Evans, Kellen Stancil, Justin Tranter, Josephine Skriver, Jonny Beauchamp, Imara Jones, Conchita Wurst, Chely Wright, Alok Vaid-Menon, and Blossom C.
