Watch: Parallels - The Life and Times of Brandon Cocard

If you're reading this right now, chances are that you first became acquainted with Brandon Cocard through his snowboarding. Memorable video parts in movies like CAPiTA's Defenders of Awesome; Absinthe's Turbo Dojo, Eversince, /fterforever, etc.; Airblaster projects; full parts like Echo Chamber; and this winter's movie of the year, Knights of the Brown Table showcase Cocard's creativity and all-terrain prowess in equal measure.*

But chances also are that if you're a fan of Cocard's riding, you've also listened to his music or seen him perform. For the better part of the past two decades, music has been a driving force in Brandon's life, interweaving with his snowboarding in a variety of ways. This is the subject of a new short video from Coal Headwear. Parallels: The Life and Times of Brandon Cocard explores Cocard the musician and this complementary creative side to the path he's forged in snowboarding.

Brandon Cocard, long time Coal Headwear ambassador, leads parallel lives. In one, he is a professional snowboarder who has traveled the world filming some of the industry's most iconic video parts for the better part of the last decade and a half. In the other he is a musician, an integral part of the burgeoning Salt Lake City music scene. Coal caught up with Brandon at the intersection of his snowboarding and music careers. We followed along as he simultaneously finished filming his video part for the award-winning Knights of the Brown Table from Brown Cinema while preparing to play one of the biggest shows of his life at the Kilby Block Party Music Festival in SLC with his band Hi Again.
