The 2023 Oscar nominations are in, and A24’s buzzy action-adventure Everything Everywhere All at Once is in the lead with 11 nominations total. The film stars Michelle Yeoh as Evelyn Wang, a middle-aged Chinese American woman who “must channel her newfound powers to fight bizarre and bewildering dangers from the multiverse as the fate of the world hangs in the balance,” the official film description reads.
Everything Everywhere All at Once also stars Ke Huy Quan as Evelyn’s husband Waymond Wang, Jamie Lee Curtis as Deirdre Beaubeirdre, James Hong as Gong Gong, Stephanie Hsu as Evelyn and Waymond’s daughter Joy, Harry Shum Jr. as Chad, and Tallie Medel as Becky.
The film earned noms in the Oscar’s biggest categories, including Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, Best Director, Best Costume Design, Best Film Editing, Best Original Score, and Best Original Song. Yeoh is nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role, and Quan for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (both actors won awards in their respective categories at the 2023 Golden Globes). Meanwhile, Curtis and Hsu each picked up noms for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.
The 95th Annual Academy Awards air on ABC on March 12, which means there’s still plenty of time to catch the Best Picture nominee before the big night. Luckily, the flick is available on a ton of streamers.
