It's been over six months since Olivia Newton-John passed. But on Friday, February 17, fans were surprised with the release of the late Grease star's final recording: a duet with her friend (and Queen of Country), Dolly Parton.

The duet is a beautiful rendition of Dolly's hit 1970's song, "Jolene." It was recorded some months before Newton-John passed away.

John Easterling (Newton-John's husband) sat down for an emotional interview with Hoda Kotb from TODAY, where he spoke about his feelings towards the duet.

“I just thought, ‘How perfect is this?’” Kotb said to Easterling. “It’s like these two beautiful icons giving us yet another gift.”

A beautiful gift indeed. 🤍

Easterling went on to say that "it’s a gorgeous duet. Dolly’s a wonderful person, was a good friend of Olivia.”

You might remember Parton's short, but heartfelt tribute to Newton-John on Instagram.

“So sad to have lost my special friend Olivia Newton-John,” she wrote. “So happy that our lives crossed paths. I know her voice is singing beautifully with the angels.”

Newton-John who died of breast cancer in August 2022, recorded the duet with Dolly as part of her last album before her passing. "Just the Two of Us: The Duets Collection," which is set to release on May 5, includes other collaborations with artists like Mariah Carey, Michael McDonald, and John Travolta.

"I'm excited, I've always wanted to sing with Dolly," you can hear Newton-John say in the music video.

Newton-John's daughter, Chloe Lattanzi, will also be featured in the new album. During her interview with TODAY, Lattanzi became emotional as she spoke about the final moments she shared with her mother.

"The last words she could say to me was, 'My sunshine,'" she said with tears. "And right before she lost her ability to speak, she was making jokes."

"I love my mom more than anything," Lattanzi exclaimed. "She's my mama, you know? She's not Olivia Newton-John to me, but I'm so glad that she was Olivia Newton-John to so many people."
