Watch the Official Trailer for Season Two of ‘Kengan Ashura’

Back in spring, Netflix confirmed that Kengan Ashura will return with a sequel anime. Earlier this week, an official trailer was unveiled, teasing upcoming battle sequences while further affirming the anime's official premiere date as September 21.

It’s been four years since the first cour of the anime first premiered on Netflix. Despite a mixed reception among fans, the series generally received positive reviews. In 2022 spring, the anime adaptation of Yabako Sandrovich’s martial arts manga series was finally green-lit for another season. Picking up from when the anime ended previously, the sequel will cover the Kengan Annihilation Tournament finals, and likely the conclusion of the original manga as well.

The long-awaited second season will be produced by Larx Entertainment, where fans can expect to see a consistent art and animation style as offered in the first season. A new opening theme has also been revealed in the 45 seconds-long promotional video. Titled “Red,” the metalcore track is performed by SiM, the same Japanese band behind Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 2’s hard-hitting opening track, “The Rumbling.”

Season 2 of Kengan Ashura will premiere on Netflix on September 21. Watch the latest promotional trailer above.

Elsewhere in entertainment, Godzilla Minus One will arrive in U.S. theaters this December.
