It’s hard to believe, but we’re already at the end of another football season. And if you’ve been watching, you know the 2022-23 run has been a doozy. Between the scary situation with Damar Hamlin, Brady’s retirement (again), and several upsets during the playoffs, there’s been plenty to talk about this season.

Today's Top Deals

But now, we’re ready to look ahead at the biggest game in America, if not the world: the Super Bowl. Yup, Super Bowl Sunday is here, which means it’s time to stock up on snacks, order in all of your favorite beverages, and put in any last-minute bets. This weekend’s game is the hottest ticket in town, and you don’t want to miss a second.

Between the commercials, Rihanna’s anticipated halftime show and the game itself, there will be plenty of talking points come Monday morning. Luckily, if you plan on taking it all in from the comfort of your couch, we’re here to help you figure out how to watch the Super Bowl online this weekend. (Plus, we’ve got the low-down on all the happenings surrounding the big game.)

Who Is Playing in Super Bowl LVII?

This weekend’s Super Bowl goes down in Arizona at the State Farm Stadium. There, on February 12 with a planned kickoff time of 3:30 p.m. PT/6:30 p.m. ET, the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles, with respective QBs Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts each hoping to lead their teams to victory.

It’s worth noting this is the first time in history that the big game has two Black starting quarterbacks, and that fact isn’t lost on either player.

“To be on the world stage and have two Black quarterbacks start in the Super Bowl, I think it’s special, and I’ve learned more and more about the history of the Black quarterback since I’ve been in this league,” Mahomes told ESPN ahead of the game. “The guys that came before me and Jalen set the stage for this, and now, I’m just glad that we can kind of set the stage for guys that are kids that are coming up now.”

Who Is Performing at the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show?

Rihanna seems to always be in the news, but she hasn’t performed live, on stage, since the 2018 Grammys. That makes her Super Bowl debut as this year’s halftime performer extra special. The Barb (as her fans are called), has been waiting for the singer to release a new album since her 2016 Anti dropped. And while no one knows exactly what RiRi will sing on February 12, everyone is expecting her to slay.

What Commercials Are Airing During Super Bowl LVII?

The Super Bowl ads (which cost millions of dollars to produce and air) are always one of the most anticipated parts of game day. This year, there are all kinds of celebrities who are shilling for various companies, including Serena Williams, Melissa McCarthy, Danny McBride and Ben Affleck (with a cameo from JLo!).

While we don’t want to go into all of the ads (sometimes it’s better to watch things as they happen), we do want to drop this Sly Stallone spot from one of our favorite streamers, Paramount+.

How to Watch Super Bowl LVII Without Cable

This year’s Super Bowl airs on Fox, which means if you want to stream it online, you’ll need a service that gives you access to Fox. For that reason, we recommend cable TV alternatives like Hulu+ Live TV, Sling, or even YouTube TV.

1. Hulu + Live TV

BEST OVERALL

As far as cable replacements go, Hulu + Live TV is the best of the bunch. Next year you’ll get access to all games live on Fox, CBS and NBC, not to mention a wide array of Hulu originals. Plus for a few bucks more per month, you can bundle this with Disney+ and ESPN+, which nabs you the ESPN archives and your family (if you’ve got one) all the Mouse House content they can handle.

2. YouTube TV

FOR RECORDING GAMES

Another cable alternative, YouTube TV, comes with an impressive amount of cloud DVR space that allows you to record any games you have to miss due to errands or family functions. (Not that you’re skipping Super Bowl for any of that, right?) It has all the same channels as Hulu + Live TV, so you’re set for the entire weekend with this option.

3. Sling TV

MOST AFFORDABLE

If you’re looking for a more affordable option to watch the Super Bowl this weekend, why not give Sling TV a whirl? The service offers its Blue and Orange package for 50 bucks a month, which provides you with access to Fox, NBC, and ESPN.

4. DirecTV Stream

BIGGEST SPLURGE

If you’ve been meaning to straight-up replace cable for a while, DirecTV stream is one of the best ways to do it. During the regular NFL season, this service allows you to watch many out-of-market games, but this weekend you can also catch the Super Bowl in all its glory. It is the most expensive option on this list, however, so you may want to wait until the next NFL season to subscribe.

5. FuboTV

BEST FOR MULTISPORTS

If you love football but also want to catch other sporty events throughout the year, a FuboTV subscription may be the way to go. The service includes CBS, Fox, NBC, ESPN, NFL Network, NFL RedZone, and more, so you’re covered for this weekend’s Super Bowl. Looking towards the rest of 2023, however, this service will also get you all the different sports you need through its base package and various add-ons.

6. NFL+

If you subscribed to NFL+ when it launched at the beginning of the season, you can now use it to watch the Super Bowl. The catch? You can only watch the game on mobile devices, so if you were looking forward to seeing it on the big screen, this might not be your best option. On the plus side, it is one of the most affordable: A basic monthly subscription is less than five bucks. To read more about NFL+ and its various services, read our full review.
