Watch: Nate Florence Talks Through His Decision To Join FLORENCE; Gets Slabbed at The Box
Last week we announced Nate Florence had departed Vans to join his namesake brand: FLORENCE.
Today, in Florence's newly released Vlog on YouTube, he expands on that decision while en route to West Oz.
"How could I pass up this opportunity?," Florence says while walking through the airport terminal. "This is for life. We have the opportunity to reshape how surfing looks for future generations. Not only in front of the brand, but on the backend as well."
From the sounds of it, it was a no brainer, really, despite the fact Vans also extended him a new contract. And why not? Viewed through the lens of longevity, of course Florence would bet on himself, his brother, and his own last name.
After landing in WA, Florence paddles straight out to The Box and gets slabbed for the first time while rocking his name on his nose.
It definitely won't be the last.
