Watch: Mountaineers Shimmy Across Razor Thin Ridge On Iconic Peak

Mountaineers Pemba (Prakash) Sherpa and Christian De Jong were attempting to summit Nuptse, a 25,791-foot peak in the Khumbu region of Nepal.

The climbers decided to try a daring shimmy across the razor-thin ridge line of Nuptse's summit, as can be seen in the video below. De Jong states in the caption that they had to eventually abandon this route due to the snow conditions.

Check it out:

Christian De Jong: "Horseback riding on the Nuptse summit ridge 😂😂. Turned out not to be the best way, so we switched to climbing in the steep face and continued to the summit. Was a great experiment though, with the best views!! 😍"

No thanks! One look on either side of that ridge was all I needed to see. You will never catch me shimmying my unbalanced and surprisingly-clumsy self along a ridge-line nearly 26,000 feet above sea level.

De Jong and Prakash Sherpa were ultimately successful in reaching the Nuptse summit, but had to use a different route to get there.

It just goes to show that Mother Nature is always in control. No matter what you're doing, you must always respect her and the conditions of the snow, rocks, soil, and weather surrounding you.

Stay safe out there, friends!
