Watch the Moment Nikki Bella and John Cena Called off Their Wedding
On last night's episode of Total Bellas, Nikki and John made the emotional decision to call off their wedding officially. In the episode recap, Nikki and Brie headed to John and Nikki's Napa wedding venue to make some final decisions right before the wedding. John couldn't make it, which upset Brie.
“John should be here, not me,” Brie said. “Your wedding is around the corner.”
Later in the episode, Nikki called Brie to tell her the wedding might be off.
John gave her one day to decide what to do about the wedding, which frustrated her, and she flew to San Diego to talk to Brie about it.
“It’s tough ’cause he’s like fighting really hard for me. … The tables have kind of turned,” she explained. “I didn’t give myself long enough the first time we broke up because I got so excited he wanted kids.”
The two broke up earlier in the season for the first time, but then briefly reconciled after John said he'd have kids with Nikki. That'd been a huge point of contention in their relationship up until that point.
Eventually, Nikki decided that even though it was incredibly hard, she knew what the right decision was because she'd "lost herself" in their relationship. The end of the episode showed Nikki and Brie at the beach talking about what happened, and Nikki explained how hard it was to have a relationship in the public eye.
“Even though I was going through depression, I think when you have a relationship in the public eye, it’s like you don’t want to let your fans down. And everyone’s fairy tale was John and I getting married, Superman and Wonder Woman … so you just force yourself to believe it, too, even if you start to feel something different,” Nikki said.
