Following successful visits to the Kingdom of Tonga and Fiji on their first royal tour together, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry returned to Sydney, Australia on a commercial flight. However, according to several royal reporters who were on the same plane, the journey was far from smooth.

Royal commentator Omid Scobie shared the scary experience on Twitter, posting a video of the moment the "quick-thinking" pilot avoided landing on a runway that was already occupied by another plane. Scobie thanked co-pilot Ann Cole and Captain Nigel Rosser for safely handling the situation.

As the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were also on the same flight, it must have been an extremely nerve-wracking experience for the crew:

However, according to all reports, the pilot's great attitude stopped the potentially scary moment from escalating. As BBC Australia journalist, Simon Atkinson, revealed on Twitter, the pilot told passengers, "You’ll get another great view of the harbor," when the plane was unable to land. As the pilot also described the aborted landing as a "missed approach," passengers were kept calm and safe:

Upon their return to Sydney, Meghan and Harry attended the Australian Geographic Society Gala Awards at the Shangri-La Hotel. Meghan looked like a literal princess in an embellished tulle gown by Oscar de la Renta, as she presented the award for the Young Conservationist of the Year:
