Watch Matthew McConaughey Deliver an Uplifting Coronavirus PSA

From Men's Health

Throughout his career, actor Matthew McConaughey has had a knack for delivering some inspiring speeches—and this week is no exception. In a video posted to his Twitter and Instagram accounts on Monday, the Dallas Buyers Club star delivered a PSA intended to calm those currently going through the coronavirus quarantine, along with some heartfelt words for those fearing its spread.

“Just wanna say, in these crazy times that we’re in with the coronavirus, let’s take care of ourselves and each other," he said. "... We have an enemy that is faceless, raceless, sexless, non-denominational, and bipartisan. And it's an enemy that we all agree we're going to beat."

In the video, McConaughey also spoke of turning "lemons into lemonade" with regard to the coronavirus. "I believe that green light is gonna be built on the values we can enact right now, values of fairness, kindness, accountability, resilience, respect, courage," he said. "If we practice those things right now, this time might be the one time [the virus] brings us all together and unifies us—like we haven’t been in a long time. So yes, let’s see if we can make some lemonade out of this lemon that we’re in the middle of. Turn a red light into a green light.”

In true Dazed and Confused fashion, McConaughey ended the video with some encouraging words of advice that only his character can give: “Just keep livin'.” As of Wednesday, the post has more than 91,000 likes and 2,400 comments on Twitter.
