The NCAA Division I men’s basketball tournament, commonly referred to as March Madness, is a single-elimination tournament that crowns the men’s college basketball national champion for the Division I level in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The tournament started in 1939, is played in the month of March, and features 68 teams.
