Watch: Makana Pang Gets Barreled at Teahupo'o
Tahiti has been firing lately.
With the North Shore and the rest of Oahu flat as a pancake right now (I just checked the report while sitting in the Honolulu airport), the pros and other dedicated tube riders have been venturing off-island to the summer spots like Teahupo'o and Indo.
North Shore ripper Makana Pang and friends made the journey there recently and scored, naturally. Check out the latest edit from videographer Josh Herz.
Herz captioned the clip: "A trip for the books."
The edit opens with Pang suspended in that crystal-clear Tahitian water Jamie O'Brien mentioned a few days ago. We see goofy-footer Pang going left and getting a few super sick barrels.
Herz of course throws in a few gorgeous land and sunset shots for good measure, making us all fantasize about booking a trip to Tahiti.
If only I could handle surfing Chopes. Sigh.
Anyway, Herz told us his crew, which included Pang and his girlfriend, Kahealani Papke, and some Kauai boys, spent two weeks staying right in front of Teahupo’o.
"We pretty much just ate baguettes and croissants and filmed 😂," he told us.
