Watch Lady Gaga's Deeply Moving Performance of ‘Joanne' at the Grammys (and Probably Cry a Little)
If there’s one thing we can always count on Lady Gaga to do at the Grammys, it’s bring down the damn house. But this year was extra special.
Nominated for two Grammys this year (Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance), queen Gaga took to her angel-wing-draped piano dressed in an otherworldly whisper-pink gown. First, she sang her latest album’s title track, “Joanne,” which was written in honor of her aunt who tragically died due to Lupus-related complications. “This is for my father’s late sister, Joanne. This is for love and compassion, even when you can’t understand,” she told the misty-eyed audience.
After the song’s emotional close, Gaga snuck in a quick “Time’s Up” nod before launching into her album’s megahit power ballad, “Million Reasons.”
