Watch Kevin Schulz Break Down the Firewire “Mashup” in Everyday California Waves

It's one thing to talk about how well a surfboard works in small, gutless waves.

And it's another to go out and prove it.

In the clip above, Kevin Schulz takes Firewire's new "Mashup" model out in 2-foot surf at Seaside in San Diego, and precedes to make it look like a Ferrari. Or at least like he's got a motor between his fins. The rad thing about this clip is it shows literally every wave Schulz took off on in one single surf. No post production tricks, and nothing to hide here.

Of course, Schulz shreds. He can rip on just about anything. But, it's obvious this board is absolutely perfect for the small surf he tests it in. No lip service here.

"First surf on the Mashup was actually really entertaining," Schulz says after the surf. "The first thing I noticed was how fast the board was. This board just had a ton of drive, and another thing I noticed was how easy it was to roll this board over on rail. Paired with this big double vee through the bottom, this thing just turns on a dime."

If you're on the fence about ordering the Mashup...well, click play, and be prepared to jump straight off.
