After hearing about British-Australian actor and singer Olivia Newton-John's passing, Kate Hudson revealed the personal impact the Grease star had on her life.

Newton-John died on Monday, August 8, at the age of 73 after a decades-long battle with breast cancer, which elicited an outpouring of tributes to the star.

Among those was Hudson's, which showed the musical impact Newton-John had on her through a beautiful video where she serenaded her 3-year-old daughter Rani.

In the video posted on Instagram, Hudson revealed her stunning singing voice as she sang "Hopelessly Devoted To You," while rocking a tired Rani in her arms.

Hudson also added a message, calling Newton-John a musical inspiration.

"❤️Olivia Newton-John❤️ There are a handful of people in my life who inspired me to lock myself in my bedroom and sing from the top of my lungs in the mirror. Mimicking every move she made, wishing I could hit those clean high notes and striving to try with my little rasp," she wrote.

She continued: "What a lovely light of a human. She was an inspiration to me as I dreamed of what my performers life ahead may be. Thank you for sharing your light to the world as it moved and shaped little girls like me. May we all today sing for Olivia and celebrate her courageous years of fighting. Love and Light 💫."

Even now, years after the song's original release in 1978, Newton-John's "Hopelessly Devoted To You" created an extremely touching moment between mother and daughter.

With almost five million likes, as of writing, it's clear that there are many fans out there of both Hudson and Newton-John who appreciated the video.

Many others have shared similar tributes to the star, including her famous costar John Travolta, who played the Danny to her Sandy in Grease.

Other celebrities who posted about Newton-John in the wake of her death include Elton John, Mariah Carey, Rebel Wilson, and more.
