JON STEWART MADE his return to The Daily Show on Monday, February 12, settling back into the host's seat for the first time since his departure almost 10 years ago, and will continue to host episodes on Monday nights throughout the rest of the year.

Comedy Central's late-night talk show has had a series of interim hosts after it was announced that Trevor Noah would be leaving in 2022, and now Stewart—whose original tenure ran from 1999 to 2015—is back to guide viewers through the 2024 election cycle with his trademark humor.

"I just thought, who better to comment on this election than someone who truly understands two aging men past their prime?" Stewart joked in an interview with CBS Mornings on Monday.

Stewart's first episode back behind the Daily Show desk saw him asking "Now where was I?", and cracking wise about the Super Bowl, with commentary from correspondents Dulce Sloan, Ronny Chieng, Desi Lydic, Michael Kosta and Jordan Klepper, all of whom will share hosting duties on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

"Jon Stewart is the voice of our generation, and we are honored to have him return to Comedy Central’s The Daily Show to help us all make sense of the insanity and division roiling the country as we enter the election season," said Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios president Chris McCarthy. "In our age of staggering hypocrisy and performative politics, Jon is the perfect person to puncture the empty rhetoric and provide much-needed clarity with his brilliant wit."
