Listen to this 25-year-old's amazing version of “Can’t You See” by The Marshall Tucker Band.

The Blind Auditions are turning into battle rounds as coaches Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, John Legend and Camila Cabello use any means at their disposal to get the best possible artists for their teams, and the Block is one of those weapons!

The final artist of the night tonight was 25-year-old Peyton Aldridge from Cleveland, Miss., and as soon as John heard him begin to sing, “Can’t You See” by The Marshall Tucker Band,” John not only turned for Peyton, but he blocked Blake!

Blake suspected something was up and he asked Gwen if John had blocked him, but she didn’t know, but that didn’t stop her from turning her own chair for Peyton, as did Blake, which is when it was confirmed that he was out of the running.

When Peyton finished his audition, John made sure to remind him that he had turned first.

“I was just captivated by your voice,” John said. “It’s so strong and clear and beautiful. You’ve got so much soul. I didn’t know if you were a soul singer, or a country singer, or a blues singer, but I felt all that beautiful American music flowing through you. I also had a feeling you might be interested in Team Blake."

At which point Blake interrupted, “You mean Team Blocked.”

John continued, “I only have one Block to use but I decided to use it on you.” Then he asked, “What other music do you listen to? What’s your stylistic goals for what you want to be as an artist?”

Peyton responded, “All I’m saying is ‘All of Me’ by John Legend is pretty dang good.”

John asks Peyton to sing the song and then he joined him on stage and sang it with him.

“I know I still have to fight for you,” John said. “You still have a chance to choose Gwen, but just know that I would love for you to be on Team Legend.”

Gwen joked with Peyton, “I can totally picture you doing…” and she sang some lyrics from “Hollaback Girl” and Peyton joined in, surprising everyone!

“When you did the John Legend song, that part of your voice, I was even more, ‘I've got to get this guy on my team because this guy could really make records,” Gwen added. “What’s interesting about you is you already know who you are. I was, ‘How do we get in there and really get people to know your personality and really get to your heart.’ John’s amazing but pick me! Let’s go!”

After some additional good-natured ribbing by the judges, Peyton chose John as his coach.

“I had a rough day, but I’m back,” said John, who had lost some artists to Camila. “Peyton is definitely one of the best singers in the competition so far. He sings from his soul and there is this honesty and authenticity to him. I’m glad I blocked Blake because I probably would have lost him to him.”

As for Peyton, he said, “I have worked my entire life to get to this moment. This opportunity is everything for me and my family. When I take that stage, I'm fixin’ to bring the house down.”

Back in Cleveland, Peyton works as an assistant coach under his brother.

“It’s rewarding being a coach,” Peyton said. “It’s more than just shooting; it’s more than just passing. Our goal is to teach these kids how to be a better person and I am ready to put that basketball down and pick up the microphone. My No. 1 passion in this world is music. This opportunity is the opportunity of a lifetime to sing in front of four legends. It’s not every day you get that chance.”

The Voice airs Monday and Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
